1. My Demon

What could be more ideal than a romantic tale featuring the beloved Song Kang (Nevertheless, Sweet Home, Love Alarm) at the center? A romantic tale with Song Kang as the angsty demon lead. Song portrays Jeong Gu-won, a demon who has spent 200 years on Earth, in this sensual drama. But when he starts dating the cold-blooded heiress Do Do-hee (Kim You-jung), he finds himself in a difficult situation since, for some reason, she has taken away his strength unless he stays near her. He finds himself having to defend Do-hee and take on the role of her bodyguard in order to preserve his own existence. However, feelings start to interfere with their agreement. In addition, the cast features Lee Sang-yi, a well-known figure from Bloodhounds from the previous year and Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha from 2021.

2.The Glory

You know you’re in for a treat when a show quickly rises to the top of Netflix’s non-English titles in terms of viewers. You’ll be gripped from the start of this two-part drama starring Lee Do-hyun, a fan favorite, and seasoned performer Song Hye-kyo. Following years of vicious physical and verbal abuse in high school, Song’s character Moon Dong-eun begins planning her decades-long retaliation. She manages to sneak into the life of each of her former bullies in her 30s and devise a slow but sure plan to kill them. (And nothing is nearly as therapeutic as a revenge story.)

3.D.P.

Fans of K-pop and soccer may be aware of the country’s forced conscription service if they are generally interested in Korean culture, but D.P. presents an overview that most people are not. Based on Kim Bo-tong’s well-known D.P. Dog’s Day webtoon, D.P. tells the tale of Private Ahn Jun-ho (Jung Hae-in) and Corporal Han Ho-yeol (Koo Kyo-hwan), a forced couple assigned to South Korea’s military police’s Deserter Pursuit unit, whose primary duty is to find AWOL troops. Over the course of two seasons, D.P. addresses difficult subjects like bullying and hazing in the military while presenting thrilling action sequences and even some well-timed comedic relief.

4.All of Us Are Dead

What happens when you combine zombies with high school students? Netflix now streams the excellent webtoon adaption All of Us Are Dead. The show, which is set in the made-up city of Hyosan, centers on a group of kids who, following a nationwide zombie epidemic, are left stranded in school and must fight to survive. All of Us Are Dead, which has 12 episodes and a significant cliffhanger at the end, will keep you riveted to the screen with a hint of high school romance and lots of suspense. Make sure you watch immediately in order to avoid missing Season 2 of the show.

5. Mask Girl

Mask Girl is the show for you if you need even more suspense. Starring Lee Han-byeol and After School member Nana, the webtoon adaptation of a thriller tells the tale of Kim Mo-mi, a regular office worker by day who leads a double life. Mo-mi, who has always been desperate for attention, dresses up as a camgirl at night and wears a mask to cover up her “ugly” appearance. She starts on a downward spiral that alters her life irrevocably after disclosing a little too much during a stream. Bullying, retaliation, sexual assault, and murder all follow. Although Mask Girl may not be for everyone, it is definitely worth watching because of its immediate fascination. (For this one, pair your popcorn with some calming tea!)
