Maryam Nawaz has given orders to launch a campaign to ban kite flying.
LAHORE: On Saturday, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz issued an order for a probe into the incident and severe punishment against the perpetrators after learning about a young man’s death in Faisalabad from kite string.
She was outraged that kite flying had not been stopped. According to her, kite flying has turned into a criminal offence and a blood sport. It is unacceptable to endanger a citizen’s life for amusement. She gave the relevant authorities instructions to take decisive action against the threat posed by kite flying.
She gave the order to launch an initiative to outlaw kite flying throughout the province. She sent orders to the police, district administration, and chief secretary to see that the prohibition on kite flying is carried out.
In this regard, a notification has been sent out per the CM’s instructions. Within 48 hours, she requested a report on the Faisalabad event from the IG Police. She claimed that even though the Punjab Prohibition of Kite Flying Ordinance of 2001 prohibited kite flying, the frequency of such instances throughout Punjab remained appalling. She stated that anyone discovered to be in breach of the kite-flying ban has to face severe consequences.
“The Pakistan Day is the day to renew our pledge of allegiance to the motherland,” Mr. Nawaz stated in her message on Pakistan Day, which was observed here on Saturday.
She stated that the spirit of Tehreek-e-Pakistan was still required for Pakistan’s construction. “The country honors the leaders of the Muslim League who enacted the resolution on Pakistan. In addition, she added that March 23 is a day to honor the sacrifices of the Azadi struggle and that, like the Pakistan Resolution, the resolution on Pakistan’s growth was urgently needed today.
The Muslim League battled to establish Pakistan in the 1940s, and the PMLN, led by Nawaz Sharif, was now implementing the decision to establish Pakistan. We must all adopt a resolution today opposing terrorism, corruption, unemployment, and poverty. In order to help people and develop them into responsible citizens, the government must now enact a resolution.
“We also need to pass a resolution to maintain environmental cleanliness and to make Pakistan beautiful and developed,” she emphasized. The younger generation needs to make the decision to work toward Pakistan’s stability and advancement.
