Cricket world cup 2023
Cricket World Cup 2023 was very interesting as both teams remained unbeatable throughout this event.
India won all 10 matches and Australia won 9 matches. The Indian cricket team proved an adamant team in this international event and by winning ten out of ten matches, it was seeking its third trophy of the Cricket World Cup.
After winning the toss Australia chose to bowl first and restricted India to 240 scores, all out on a slow pitch. Indian players’ highest scores were made by Rahul 66 (107), Sharma 47 (31), and Kohli made 54 on 63 balls.
Josh Hazle wood dismissed the dangerous Ravindra Jadeja for only nine and after Starc caught Lokesh Rahul to finish his gritty knock of 66, India was 203-6. The tail included another 37 runs before Kuldeep Yadav was run out on the final ball of the innings.
India ended the inning by leaving the target of 241. A target of 241 felt very low, so it proved when India’s World Cup dream slipped away.
Indi made a good start by getting three wickets on just 47 scores. Virat Kohli dismissed David Warner, and Jaspreet Bumrah caught Mitchell Marsh at 15 runs and Steve Smith at 4 runs.
It was the moment when Australia came under pressure. The turning point of this mega event started when Travis Head came to bat and scored 137 on 120 balls in a partnership with Marnus Labuschagne (58 not out). He brought his team out of pressure and set his team on the victory route.
When Head was dismissed, Australia needed only two more runs to win, and Glenn Maxwell came to bat and won the victory for Australia by scoring two runs immediately and winning.
A heavily pro-Indian crowd inside the 1.3 million capacity in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi Stadium became silent as Head combined with Marnus Labuschagne (58 not out ) in a 192-run partnership to reach the target of 241.
Australia won a sixth ODI World Cup title, while India will witness today as a huge missed chance considering they were playing in their home ground, and had been far and away the best team in this tournament.
